Directions to get to other swim meet sites
Abilene
Go north on I-135 past Salina, then east on I-70.
Take the main Abilene exit (K-15), then go south.
Take a right (west) onto N 3rd St, go 8 blocks to Poplar. Turn right to the pool.
Total distance: 40 miles. Travel time, about 50 minutes.

Details: new pool, 8 lanes but only deep enough to dive in five of them. Diving permitted at flip end. 25 yeard pool.
Council Grove
Go north onto I-135, take K-4 east exit, follow K-4 through Gypsum and Hope,
then past Herington, take US 77 south 2 miles, then US 56 east to Council Grove.
Go over the river, then at the only stoplight in town, turn left (north) onto Union.
After the big stone house, turn right past ball fields to the pool.
Details: A 6-lane, 25 METER pool, so 10% longer than ours.
The pool is 4 foot deep at the blocks, 3' at the flip end.
No diving at the flip end, but be sure to practice shallow flips.
Good blocks, lots of picnic area around the pool.
Herington
Take Old Hwy 81 to 2 miles north of Assaria - Turn RIGHT onto K-4.
Follow Hwy 4 east to Herington. At Herington, just after you cross under a railroad bridge, look
for a green sign that says Herington High School.
Just after the sign, turn RIGHT onto D. St.
After you pass the High and Middle Schools, turn RIGHT onto Logan St.
Logan St. becomes N. Broadway St. after it curves around a
hospital and nursing home. Follow N. Broadway to the pool on the right.

Details: this pool is 8-lanes, but SHORT! Practice shorter dives, especially for experienced swimmers
Diving permitted on both sides. Home-made wooden blocks, but pretty well anchored.
Hesston
Go south on I-135 to exit 40, then turn right on Lincoln Blvd.
Go west to Park Road (just about 1/4 mile from exit), then turn left.
Follow Park Road south to driveway entrance into back high school parking lot.
Travel time about 50 min.
Details: Good shade and wind break, as the pool is almost surrounded by the high school. OK blocks.
Hillsboro
Go south to McPherson, east to Hillsboro.
At the ALCO corner, turn right (south) on Ash St to D Street (old Hwy 56).
Turn right, go one block back west, turn left (south) on Memorial Dr.
It will run you almost into the pool.
This is a 45 min drive.

Details: Good blocks, medium high, BUT the flip end is only 3' deep, and no diving is allowed at that end. Practice shallow flip turns.
Marion
Go south to McPherson, east past Hillsboro toward Marion.
Take Highway 56 until you reach the Pizza Hut just outside Marion.
Turn right (south) on Eisenhower Street and go south until Lawrence Street.
Turn right (west) and drive two blocks.
The USD #408 Sports/Aquatics Complex will be on your left across from the Marion Elementary School.
There is parking on the west side as well as a rocked parking area on the south side of the building.
Travel time about one hour.

Moundridge
Go south on I-135 past McPherson, to exit 48. Go south to 4-way stop.
Go left (east) on Cole 5 blocks. Turn right (south) on Washington 2 blocks to pool.
Travel time about 35 min.

Details: Deep end under boards is the flip end, so no problem diving there. Low blocks. 5 lanes.
Peabody
Go south to McPherson, east past Hillsboro to Canada (Kansas, that is).
Go south on County blacktop about 14 miles, along west edge of Peabody.
Go east on W 3rd St two blocks, then south on Locust, right past the pool.

This will take over an hour, so start early.

Details: Trapezoidal pool with 4 lanes, water-filled plastic blocks, tendency to storm and hail. 25 meter pool.
Solomon
(Google directions) Take I-135 north past Salina, get on I-70 east bound.
Take exit 266, go south on K-221 (Poplar St). Turn left (east) onto 6th St.

The total distance is 35 miles, so allow 45 minutes.

Details: a 25-m pool, with six narrow lanes, bobber ropes, wooden blocks with slanted carpeted surfaces. No gutters, cement rim, 5 foot dive end, THREE FOOT "flip" end.
LINDSBORG
For those who are not familiar with our pool, it has 6 lanes, 25 yard lengths, with great blocks in 4-5 ft of water.
The flip end is 3.5 - 4 ft, so diving is allowed. We've good lane ropes, and an excellent guttering system to minimize waves.
Our waterslide, Thor's Revenge, is fantastic, so stay around afterwards for general admission, or come back another time.
